Dear FEMTEC employees! 

  I express my sincere condolences on the death of the President of FEMTEC Federation - Umberto Solimene. Umberto Solimene, President of the World Federation of Hydrotherapy and Climatotherapy (FEMTEC), Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Centre for Integrative Medicine, Professor at the University of Milan, suddenly passed away in his eighty-second year of life.

From the mid-1970s of the last century until his last day, Umberto Solimene actively cooperated with the Federal State Budgetary Institution "National Medical Research Centre for Rehabilitation and Balneology" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. He regarded FSBI "NMRC RB" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation as a unique example in the world of clinical, research and service structure in this field.

Umberto Solimene was very friendly with V.M. Bogolyubov, whom he considered his teacher, and always praised A.N. Razumov and many other Russian colleagues with whom he had numerous scientific exchanges within the frames of the delegations coordinated by the Ministries of Health of Italy and Russia..

Umberto Solimene wrote about his Russian friends: "Working together has also allowed the birth of deep personal feelings of friendship, and that is why I can describe the history of our relationship as very rich, with science, knowledge and feelings intertwined. On behalf of the Board of directors of FEMTEC and on his own behalf, he expressed his great professional and personal gratitude to A.D. Fesyun, Acting director of FSBI “NMRC RB" of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

Professor Umberto has always been known for deep humanity, high professionalism, diligence, vitality, optimism and kindness, readiness to help and support any endeavours and initiatives.

I am deeply saddened by the irreparable loss and extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends.
