On 5 May 2024, Professor Maya Alekseyevna Khan, a renowned scientist in the field of
paediatric physiotherapy, balneology and rehabilitation, marked her jubilee. Maya Alekseyevna Khan is the Head of the Medical Rehabilitation Centre of N.F. Filatov Children's Municipal Clinical Hospital of Moscow Healthcare Department, and also heads the Department of Medical Rehabilitation of Children and Adolescents of Moscow Scientific and Practical Centre for Medical Rehabilitation, Restorative and Sports Medicine of Moscow Healthcare Department.

She is a professor of the following departments: physical and rehabilitation medicine with a course of clinical psychology and pedagogy at the Central State Medical Academy of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation; medical rehabilitation and physiotherapy of Moscow Region of M. F. Vladimirsky Moscow Regional Research Clinical Institute, chief external expert in medical rehabilitation (children), consultant in paediatric balneology of the Main Medical Administration of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, honoured doctor of Moscow.

Maya Alekseyevna has made a great contribution to the organization of sanatorium-and-spa care for children in the Russian Federation. She supervised and participated in the drafting of regulatory and legal documents on sanatorium-and-spa treatment of children, indications and counterindications.

Maya Alekseyevna is also the author of more than 600 scientific publications, 34 patents for invention, 55 methodical recommendations, 31 manuals for doctors, 8 training manuals for the system of postgraduate professional education, co-author of 24 monographs addressing the issues of physiotherapy, balneology, rehabilitation, and justification of the use of physical factors in various childhood diseases. More than 30 theses were defended under her supervision, including doctoral theses.

Maya Alekseyevna is a member of editorial boards of 10 leading specialized journals, including “Bulletin of Rehabilitation Medicine”.
