Jubilee of Alexander N. Razumov

August 24, 2024 marked the 80th anniversary of the outstanding scientist, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, laureate of the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Medical Sciences Alexander N. Razumov. For many years A.N. Razumov has been the President of the Moscow Scientific and Practical Center of Medical Rehabilitation, Restorative and Sports Medicine and heads the Department of Restorative Medicine, Rehabilitation and Balneology of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University.

The scientific school of academician A.N. Razumov unites the widest range of research in fundamental and applied areas: the concept of professional health was formed, a new scientific direction and scientific specialty - regenerative medicine was created, the subject of which became both the problems of health protection of practically healthy individuals with reduced functional reserves, and the issues of secondary prevention and development of effective methods of medical rehabilitation using mainly non-medication methods and means. On A.N. Razumov's initiative in 2003 the national concept “Health Protection of Healthy People” was adopted, and in 2008 - the concept of the state policy for the development of health resort business in the Russian Federation.

For his achievements in the field of regenerative medicine in 2006 academician A.N. Razumov was awarded the N.A. Semashko Prize of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences for the best scientific work on the theory and history of health care, and in 2008 - the Prize “Vocation” of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia in the nomination “The Best Doctor of Russia”.

Alexander N. Razumov is the author of more than 700 scientific works, including 11 monographs and 2 national manuals, more than 40 doctoral and 25 candidate theses were defended under his scientific supervision. He is the editor-in-chief of the Journal “Problems of Balneology, Physiotherapy and Exercise Therapy”.
